Helen Qin was born in China, lived in Los Angeles and moved to Cleveland in the beginning of 2013. She was moving up the corporate ladder of a large multinational bank – but wasn’t happy. She assumed it was because she wasn’t doing something she loved, but it wasn’t until she started an ice cream business with her husband – Mason’s Creamery – that she started to realize it doesn’t matter what your job is. Every job has its ups and downs and none is a panacea for the troubles in your life. It’s taken a layoff and a lot of ice cream, but she’s learning daily that she is not her job – and neither are you.
